The guard bar

One line that says whether you can trade, and why not.

The guard bar sits under the navigation on every screen of the terminal. Its background is the signal.

Raised (normal)

Clear to trade. Every rule passes on the current account. Day P&L against your daily limit, how many rules are active, when the last sync ran.

Warning. A rule in warn mode would fire on the next order. The bar stays on its normal surface with an amber dot and one sentence.

Amber

Risk cannot be added. The bar names the reason and, where there is one, the countdown:

  • Blocked: the last order broke a block-mode rule.
  • Cooldown: a loss limit or streak rule paused new positions. "Resumes in 47 min."
  • Kill switch armed: every order is refused, including closes, until the disarm countdown ends.
  • Data stale: the last sync is older than five minutes or failed. Opens are refused, closes allowed.

Red-tinted

Broker connection degraded. Three consecutive provider failures opened the circuit breaker. Opens are refused for two minutes; closes proceed. It closes itself when the provider answers again.

The escape hatch

The right end of the bar always links to your broker. Whatever Roaraq refuses, you can do there.
