Blocks, cooldowns and acknowledgement
What a block is, what it records, and what happens after.
Pre-trade block
The rule check found a block-mode rule the order would break. The order was not sent. The block is recorded with the rule, its version, the metric, the limit and the account state the engine saw. The guard bar turns amber until the next order or until you acknowledge the block.
Monitor block
After a sync, a rule fired on the real account: a daily loss limit reached, a loss streak completed. These blocks arm a cooldown for the duration in the rule. During a cooldown, orders that add exposure are refused; orders that reduce exposure go through.
Cooldowns cannot be shortened
By design. If a rule allows overrides you may override a specific order during a cooldown, and the override is recorded. The cooldown itself runs its course.
Acknowledging
The Blocks page lists every block. Acknowledging one clears it from the guard bar; it stays in the list and in the audit log. Nothing is ever deleted.
Reading a block
Each block is one sentence: "Buy 400 AAPL would take AAPL to 91.2% of equity. Limit 10%." The numbers are the engine's, from the state at that moment, and they do not change afterwards.
