Connecting a broker

Alpaca

1. In Alpaca, create an API key pair for the account you want to connect. Paper keys come from the paper dashboard, live keys from the live one.
2. In Roaraq, Connect → Alpaca. Paste the key and secret and say whether they are paper or live.
3. Roaraq makes one account call to check the keys, then stores them encrypted in a vault. They are never shown again.

You can create several key pairs at Alpaca and revoke any of them there at any time. Revoking a key disconnects the account on the next sync.

Through SnapTrade

Interactive Brokers, Schwab, Robinhood and others connect through SnapTrade, a broker aggregator. Connect → SnapTrade opens their portal, where you sign in to your broker. Your broker credentials never pass through Roaraq; SnapTrade issues a per-user secret that Roaraq stores encrypted. Availability depends on their coverage and on our aggregator approval; the brokers page shows the current status.

Several accounts

Connect as many as you like. The account switcher in the header chooses which one the terminal shows. Rules can apply to all accounts or to one.

Disconnecting

Connect → the account → Disconnect. The keys are deleted at once. Your history in Roaraq stays. Nothing changes at your broker; positions, orders and stops live there.

Live trading

Live accounts trade real money only after you acknowledge the risk disclosure and turn live trading on in Settings → Profile. Until then a live account is read-only in Roaraq.
